Since our blog post last year, we’ve all but disappeared. For those who wonder about what moving internationally with four cats was like, I’ll eventually make a separate post about that. But as for now, we’ve officially been living in Czechia for a year.
So much of our lives have changed for the better, and along the way, I believe moving was the best decision for our family. We’ve been much happier living abroad. Something about the fast-paced living in the USA always seemed to wear me down to the bone.
Working tirelessly for money, in hopes of getting ahead in life, and in the end never truly getting by with more than the bare necessities.
Our cats have been much happier I think. Our new home has windows facing three different directions, with lots of natural light, and plenty in terms of bird watching outside. Everything grows here unlike central Oregon. Central Oregon was often too dry for grass, and too cold at night in the way of flowers. Here in Czech Republic, there’s always something growing. When one flower dies off, another blooms after, replacing it’s beauty with a whole new variety of colors.

It’s like watching a performance of a symphony or a play, progressing along with a story or building up into a performance. Every plant has it’s place and dedicated time to shine. I will continue marveling at this as I await the next spring and summer.
While our cats have certainly missed the freedom of the cat enclosure, they’ve certainly enjoyed their walks here. So many new smells, and so much grass to chew on. In fact I’m sure, Albert is ready to retire in the countryside somewhere as a cow. He loves nothing more than sitting in the field, occasionally chewing on something green.
For those who’d like to follow along with our cats, we’re far more active on YouTube and Instagram. Here’s one of our recent videos, reminiscing about the old cat enclosure we had back in Oregon.
I hope one day we will have a home to call our own, and a garden that the cats can freely enjoy shall we ever move out of the city.
Wishing you all the best,
Livia and five furry tails enjoying life to the fullest
